According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are more than 103,000 vacant housing units in Chicago. More than 13,000 of them are vacant because they need repairs, were abandoned or are condemned – vacant, even as the unhoused population continues to grow.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
