Vallas: Youth crime is on the rise in Chicago – and CTU’s school closures may be to blame for the trend – Illinois Policy

The University of Chicago Crime Lab recently reported a 50% increase in shooting victimizations of school-aged youth 17 years and younger since 2019. Over 90% of victims were not enrolled in school. Earlier analysis by the Crime Lab documented 8% of those arrested were for homicides, 9% for shootings, 32% for robberies and 49% for carjackings were youth 17 years and younger.

As usual, no mention in any of this about who the perpetrators are. Are there some statistics available so we can identify the communities, racial demographics and specific age groups to focus on? Of course the stats are there. I guess in this city it is racist to identify the perpetrators and focus on some essential facts. We wont ever solve the problem until we can discuss it honestly.

While CTU determined they could get paid for failing EVERY YEAR, PARENTS in Chi-raq decided they should vote for folks like FOX and JOHNSON.
