Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. More propaganda from the liberal machine. I have also read in police blotters about many illegal residents from Venezuela setting up business in Illinois, where they were warmly welcomed by the Happy Warrior. Only the chosen profession of these Venezuelans was stealing. The Macy’s in Oak Brook is apparently their favorite store in which to ply their trade, and despite stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise, these illegal immigrants are released back into society every day thanks to Governor Happy Warrior’s war on crime prevention. That means all law abiding citizens pay more to cover the losses. Looking forward… Read more »
Law is a subjective concept in any progressive/Democratic Party entity.
Yep, starting on day 1 with breaking into our country and continuing with street vendor food sans health oversight, licensing and remitting sales taxes.

Do we really need disgusting and unsanitary street food culture in the United States? We have no idea if she’s serving rat or squirrel meat.
Where’s their City of Chicago food license? Where’s their City of Chicago Health Department inspection certificate? Where’s their City of Chicago business license? Oh, that’s right, rules are for thee, but not for me, and this instance, nor for recently-arriving migrants.
They’re certainly not collecting sales tax.
Food truck operators in Chicago must be outraged by this, given how harshly City Hall enforces its rules and regulations on the truck-based legitimate food sellers. Ditto for all the small storefront restaurant owners, many themselves immigrants who comply with city, county, state, and federal laws concerning their food businesses.
We’re living under anarcho-tyranny:
Leniency for minority groups favored by the government; meanwhile the productive, taxpaying majority, being disfavored by the government, get the full measure of the law.
