Video: Gov. JB Pritzker says redrawn Texas map ‘violates the Constitution’ – NBC News

A guest on Meet the Press, Gov. JB Pritzker responded to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s vow to pursue Democratic lawmakers who fled to Illinois and elsewhere to block redistricting — and addresses his own state’s heavily Democratic map.

There is absolutely no Constitutional provision or SCOTUS decision that forbids lines be drawn between the censuses. Pritzker know this but is a LIAR.

The Voting Rights Act is in itself gerrymandering. 83% of black voters vote democrat. That guarantees a disproportionate share of a legislative district where politicians get to pick their voters.

A little advice for Gov. Gerry Mander…

It is best to be thought of as a fool, rather than opening your mouth & proving it…

On second thought, forget that advice, continue on, continue on…

Pritzker takes direction well-when asked directly about Illinois earning a “F” for our gerrymandered map, he doesn’t answer and instead deflects to lie about Texas. The old Democrat strategies are at work here- repeat a lie often enough and it becomes “fact”, and deflect, deflect, deflect.

JB The Hutt keeps clowning himself on national TV — wagging all 5 of his chins at gerrymandering in Texas — after having signed off the nation’s worst example of gerrymandering in Illinois (in breach of his own campaign promise not to do so). No wonder he was kicked out of the family biz for being a useless load.

Total hogwash from Pritzker. Any Texas map will be tested in court for constitutionality and compliance with Voting Rights Act. If it doesn’t comply it will not go into effect. There is no distinction, as Pritzker claims here, between what Illinois did and what Texas is trying to do.

Pritzker is relishing his national spotlight attention. Just like Al Sharpton, Prtizker is smugly preening and prancing. His 2028 Presidential Campaign victory must seem so close that he can hardly fail to grasp it. He doesn’t know that it is already behind him, somewhere back in that vast obscurity beyond the city, where the dark fields of the republic roll on under the night.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
