Violent incidents soared to new highs after alderman vowed to stop talking about ‘racist’ crime – CWB Chicago

A North Side alderman’s decision to not talk about crime because she believes doing so is racist and contributes to a negative “perception” failed to reduce crime in 2024. In fact, crime in Edgewater, the neighborhood that constitutes much of Ald. Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth’s 48th Ward, jumped nearly 50 percent in Edgewater while overall crime increased by 9 percent.

Leni is a looney. When Edgewater street-crimes have happened to half the households in the neighborhood, Leni will be looking for a new job. Alderpeople have a great gig, with little true responsibility, some public facetime, and otherwise, great opportunity for petty graft.

Talking about crime, committed by black and brown people is racist because black and brown people committed crimes. Got it. Typical mental disordered liberal logic.

She’s a Marxist and I really think she’s got mental problems. I’m in her ward and I’ve talked to her. Lights on. Nobody home.

Once again reality strikes a Democrat’s preconceived notion of how things should be (according to them as they are always right) versus what they actually are.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
