Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.

I became a rabid conspiracy theorist when top Democrat assured me that Covid came from Pangolin soup, and not that virus lab down the block from the ‘wet market’; and then again after every Democrat voted against common sense voting security measures while assuring me that 2020 and 2022 were the ‘most secure elections ever’.

I have seen a lot of “stolen elections” in my lifetime. The earliest of which was the Kennedy Nixon election with considerable speculation on the Chicago votes with Richard Daley at the helm. Then there was the Bush Gore election with the hanging chads in Florida I believe and the Obama election is too lengthily to list. We had Hillary and Trump, Trump and Biden and now the Trump and Harris elections to argue about. So sad in a way my whole lifetime has been faced with cheating candidates, or so they say.
