Watchdog demands probe of Illinois public library amid property tax push – Center Square

In a 35-count ethics complaint, Americans for Prosperity-Illinois is calling for a formal investigation into the Rochester Public Library, alleging staff and board members used public resources to campaign for a 169% property tax increase.

When Old Joe was a kid the library was an inexpensive city service staffed by a couple old ladies that would shush me if ai was too loud.

Now they are expensive woke homeless shelters with reduced hours.

White Oak Library District may have done the same for the 5th time there was a referendum to raise property taxes to increase the district’s hours, it failed 4 times before by large margins and miraculously it passed this year by almost a thousand votes, hum .
