“We Just Can’t Get in Front of It”: Is Joe Biden Sleeping on Chicago’s Migrant Crisis? – Vanity Fair

The Windy City continues to buckle under the weight of new arrivals, testing the empathy of residents and leaders alike. “This is really a federal responsibility,” says Chicago’s deputy mayor of migrant rights. “It isn’t fair to put it on cities.”

There’s hundreds of thousands of lefties who supported Chicago’s sanctuary city status with their money and votes. If each lefty just took 1 or 2 illegals into their homes, the problem would go away. The problem literally could be solved by this weekend. So lefties, the solution is all on you. Do you believe in real sanctuary, or was sanctuary just some theoretical concept for someone else to worry about? The power rests in you, Mr. & Mrs. Lefty, to put your money where your big mouth is. Go down to your local police station, see which illegal approaches you… Read more »

Many thanks to the one cowardly downvoter, who obviously won’t be taking an illegal home with them, for confirming my premise that Chicago as a sanctuary city was just a theoretical concept for the lefties. Shame on you for not bringing truth to power.

Many of these same Woke 20-something “lefties” lifestyles are funded by “bank of mom and dad”, not financially independent. Many 30-something college-educated folks also still rely on parental subsidies. It’s easy to support woke politics which spend tax-payers’ hard-earned monies, when you’re minimally responsible for ensuing government largess. Also, many “lefties” live in college dorm, or at “grace and favor” of their parents, whether at home or in paid-for apartment. College-policies forbid unaffiliated residents in dorms; parents, no matter how liberal, don’t want strange guy in their kids apartment, or in their own home. Interesting that communities composed of mostly… Read more »

Funny how this becomes a “problem” when it is placed at your doorstep. The problem isn’t slowing. I believe that allowing these illegals to cross and be in this country will prove to cause the most damage to this country in the history of the United State. This President has created the largest financial disaster ever and at the same time allowed our Country to be invaded. Of the now, 7.5M people who have been allow to enter this Country under this President, does any believe that perhaps maybe could be an army of terrorists or an actual Army brigade… Read more »

Here’s a thought Beatrice & BJ. When you’re in a hole perhaps you ought to stop digging.

RESCIND THE SANCTUARY CITY STATUS OF CHICAGO.

Truth in Cook County

Joe Biden and the democrats are too busy spending money on the Ukraine war, supporting their borders, but not ours. Also massive spending on new clean energy deals, which kills our economic competitiveness, while China and India load up on new coal power plants. Just look at the money JB and Joe are floating to the Chinese in Manteno. The federal money is targeted elsewhere. Even if they tried to send money to Chicago for economic migrants, how would they pay for that? U.S. government debt is already viewed with suspicion globally. Nobody wants it – many think it will… Read more »

Maybe the media can run a montage of the political class virtue-signaling for the cameras their Sanctuary City cred, so Chicagoans can see who started this mess.

Let’s be frank here. It’s been decades since “Chicago”, meaning its mayors, its city hall department heads, and its various NGO agencies, have ever been “ahead” of ANY social or governance problem. Chicago is a city historically run by clouted people, often with little relevant experience, frequently not motivated to do competent job, mostly shuffling through the day to collect the above-average government wage with minimal work-effort. Go to city hall – you can see it. Go to average CPS school – you can see it. Go ride on a CTA bus or subway – you can see it. Go… Read more »

Until IL and Chicago Democrats rescind their ‘sanctuary’ status, their complaints about illegals cannot, and should not, be taken seriously.

Chicago Teachers Union contract demands are totally divorced from reality – Wirepoints

Details emerging about Chicago Teachers Union’s upcoming contract show just how divorced its demands, both extreme and expensive, are from the reality at Chicago schools. It’s not just about massive salary increases, but also about money for migrant students, climate initiatives, abortions and gender-affirming care. About blocking parental notification. Count on CTU’s demands to veer further from reality until the public finally says no.

Gov. Pritzker’s ‘ethics reform’ eliminates competitive elections and choice for voters – Wirepoints on AM 560 Chicago’s Morning Answer

Ted joined Dan and Amy to talk about a new law passed by the Democratic supermajority and signed by Gov. J.B. Pritzker that results in brazen election interference, keeping Republicans off ballots; about a referendum that tests the waters for a renewed progressive income tax hike; about how the Parental Notification referendum question was knocked off the ballot; and why laws like that pass so easily.

Chicago needs more champions of literacy like Willie Wilson – Wirepoints

It’s rare to see city leaders in Chicago take an open, unabashed stance on the collapse of literacy. To complain is deemed as too political, too racist or too anti-public schools. So it’s refreshing to see Willie Wilson, a successful businessman and leader of the black community, call for a literacy initiative “with the goal of getting 100% of Black students reading at grade level.”
