A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
The problem I think that we have is that we have underestimated how many of these woke cultists are among us. Its the cry babies who are really not happy with their job, sexual orientation, elections, environmental policy, abortion, and just about everything else. As long as the Cook County states attorney, Kim Foxx, has her office unilaterally dismiss state laws for charging and refusing to approve felony charges with endless demands of more evidence, more video, more witnesses, more of things that aren’t available and the violent criminals hit the revolving door of the Cook County justice system nothing will get better, nothing will change and crime will rise.
As I’ve repeatedly posted here, Kim Foxx is extremely popular in high crime neighborhoods. She receives vote totals in these areas that would make petty dictators of third world countries blush. She’s wildly popular and high crime neighborhoods love her. Unfortunately much of Crook County is a $hithole and full of crime, so she wins the majority of votes every election.
Taking that into account, the Cook County voters are the main problem. We act bewildered when she wins, like “how could this have happened”? With all of the CPD retirements it’s going to take an act of god to turn this around.
Crime was really bad during the 1970’s – the highest murder numbers were from this era. The drug wars of the 90’s were really bad too – way, way more shootings than the 1970’s but only slightly fewer murders. We are rapidly heading back in that direction. My guess is that in a couple of years Chicago’s murder and crimes rates will surpass both the 1970’s and 1990’s, as Chicago transforms into a 2030’s version of Dirty Harry, Serpico or the French Connection, all 1970’s movies about dystopian crime ridden and dangerous urban life. I wonder how many of the perpetrators are illegal immigrants coming to our sanctuary state? We know they do not respect the police in Mexico and much of Latin America. Why would we expect them to respect the cops here? Couple that with the racial activism promoted but Lori, Kim, Timmy and Toni, and this is a recipe for continued real trouble for city residents and visitors. Everyone says they need to regain control, and soon, – but who is they? No one in City or State leadership seems to offer any plan on how to turn this around.
Little bit more to unpack here about Mexico. Mexico is a narco state 100%. The cartels have everyone paid, compliant, blackmailed, or killed. This includes politicians and law enforcement, and the judicial system. Latin America not as much but more corruption. Police in Mexico are feared because everyone knows who they work for. Federal authorities and the military to a lesser degree but they conceal their identities often so no one really knows how many have infiltrated these organizations.
