It might end after June primaries depending on how strong turn out is. A massive Republican primary might scare the bejesus out of fatty and force him to take corrective measures for his own chances in November 2022. Otherwise, there’s no impetus to remove the mandates, and he’s surrounded himself with people who treat their masks as more holy than the Rosary.
