Who could replace Biden? – Politico

"Among the Democrats’ bench of potential candidates who didn’t participate in the 2020 primaries, a group of governors stand out — California’s Gavin Newsom, Michigan’s Gretchen Whitmer, Illinois’ J.B. Pritzker, Pennsylvania’s Josh Shapiro and Maryland’s Wes Moore."

It really doesn’t matter who they replace Biden with. The ballots come in no matter what. They only need 50,000 ballots spread out over several swing states to win the electoral college and there’s enough “always vote blue no matter who” people out there that it doesn’t make any difference. It didn’t matter in 2020, why would it matter now? The concern with Biden is that fewer people will show up for him now that his early dementia is out in the open. They won’t vote for Trump but they can’t pull the lever for the comatosed Biden either so… Read more »

I don’t entirely disagree, but all you really need are to disenfranchise enough people who don’t like being lied to. The current administration and media told everyone Joe was sharp and of sound mind. They now know differently. Will the disenfranchised be enough? I’m skeptical but forever hopeful.

Quite a bench the Dems have in reserve. Gavin and Pritzger’s bumbling ineptitude are the stuff of legend. “ Waffles “ Whitmer has, more than once, tried to enact stupid legislation only to backpedal. If Shapiro and Moore run the country anything like they run Philadelphia and Baltimore, respectively, we’re in serious trouble. Buttigig always seems to be busy with his husband and baby when needed as when the supply chain was defunct and trains were derailing. And I thought that the Republicans had a weak second string!

First the honest part, a White Male to replace Kamala a whatever black female simply isn’t going to fly. Go Joe B, I want to see another debate, I’ll have the popcorn ready!

Both Pritzker and Newsom are ruing their respective states. Not good choices. Who takes toilets out of his mansion to avoid property taxes? Pritzker.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
