‘Who Is Making These Ridiculous Decisions’: Chicago Public Schools Blasted For Eliminating Boys And Girls Separate Restrooms – Daily Wire

CPS released a video featuring Camie Pratt, the district’s Chief Title IX Officer and Deb Spraggins, the district’s Deputy Chief Title IX Officer, as they stated, in part, "We will be providing all schools with updated signage that makes our bathrooms more inclusive. It will identify the fixtures available in each restroom and make it clear that all restrooms are open for use by anyone who feels comfortable."

A lot of negativity the last few days and Lori is on the low down somewhere! Then the epiphany! The Obama’s are in town, Lori is getting her hair did and selecting a wardrobe befitting her stature in the party.

Nothing happens in CPS without a green light from CTU.

CPS is ins a race to the bottom in policies and educational outcomes.
Your tax dollars being wasted on nonsense while graduates can’t read and comprehend. (I’d be curious to know the cost of changing all the bathroom signage.)
And the City wonders why families are fleeing at record numbers.

I don’t recall the precise statistics here, but my guess is that maybe 2/3 to 3/4 of CPS don’t immediately attend a college or junior college. Assuming the nationwide generalization that 1/2 of those attending don’t graduate within 6 years (if ever), then maybe the college-graduation rate for CPS students might well be in the range of half those numbers (2/3-and 3/4) of those who graduate from CPS. Its even a lesser number for those who start CPS as freshman but drop out prior to graduating. So, you tell me just how important it is to the vast majority of… Read more »

Much of schooling in the classical sense that college-grad parents want is a waste of money and decidedly so in most large inner-city or decidedly rural areas. College-grad parents need to abandon that classical idea as to what schooling at taxpayer expense should be or create a tracking system to put financial resources into ways that are more likely to provide a given result or sets of results. “You can lead a horse to water, but…..”

Yes, so how do we convince the progressives that control education to acknowledge reality and vote accordingly?

Its likely near impossible to do so since the whole motivational scheme of politicians and liberals in particular is to give something to every interest group. The result is where are today with education, going in lots of different directions with goals and wasting resources where they might be put more profitably in terms of the likely achievement of specific goals in fewer program areas. The government is trying to appease everyone, but really truely PLEASING very few with such a scattered set of outcomes and measurements for success in doing so.

Sounds like there may be a need for some new classes in the CPS curriculum. First up, “Making babies in the bathroom”, followed by “Parts is parts”. Enjoy kids!

Another fantasy I refuse to participate in.

God help anyone who harms or facilitates the harming of my child in a school bathroom.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
