Chicago continues to make tremendous strides in becoming a tech epicenter for inclusive, economic growth, and the big names in tech have taken notice. Last month, Melinda Gates’ Pivotal Ventures announced that it would invest $50 million into Chicago and two other cities over the next five years to boost women’s involvement in the tech industry.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
