Willie Wilson: Chicagoans cannot wait 50 years for clean water – Chicago Tribune*

"I was astonished to learn the city has submitted a request to extend its replacement of lead service lines — 30 years beyond the 20 years the federal government has proposed. The city plans to complete 8,300 replacements annually for 50 years, wrapping up in 2076. This pace defies common sense and is unconscionable."

IL won’t fund replacing lead water lines because Democrats are spending the money on lefty policies. I guess they will wait to replace aging gas lines too until houses start blowing up.

Recently some of the pilot program lead water line replacements in city I’ve noticed and talked to the crews in my neighborhood are being contracted out vrs having city water dept crews perform work directly. But in any case, you can be sure Operators150 is making sure they get every last dime of CRAZY $35gs a lead water line replacement they can get.
