Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Sorry but as a covid denier and political b.s. buster – I call it highly probable this is being cooked up (we know exactly how they do it – including the hospital thing), so that the current lawsuit against Evers’ illegal 2nd E.O. can be held up or stopped.
On top of that Evers is a puppet, and ultimately dispensable by those pulling his strings. Hope for any sanity in WI lies in the legislature.
