This is not new at all! The bloodletting in the Police department has been going on since at least the Emanuel administration. But it is exactly what all the SJW’s want so the Mayor really does not care! But you can bet that your taxes will not go down commensurate with the reduced cost of fewer cops on the force.

Where are we going to be in three years? I can answer that, Indiana,Texas,Florida,Kentucky,Iowa, etc…and hopefully leave Illinois politics in illinois.

Willful and intentional destruction of downtown business and tourism-related revenue by “woke” SJW politicians. CPD Commander Internal Affairs scandal, Ms. Yolanda Talley, is prime example of WHY Chicago no longer “works”, and WHY crime is out-of-control here. Between her falsified PP Covid grants, her drug-dealing niece driving her Lexus, her niece’s drug-dealer boyfriend who is also informant in that big payout for “wrong house raid” controversy, and her improbable rise to $165,000/year position as CHIEF of Internal Affairs, Talley seems certainly 1) incompetent; 2) inattentive; 3) ineffective as CPD Commander. Far far far too many governance decisions, too many elective… Read more »

Affirmative Action has its drawbacks. Incompetent in, incompetent out. Commander (ha ha ha) Talley is one of the reasons why the CPD has no leadership.

One does not have to go to the “hood”. The “hood” is now all over Chicago!

The PPP loan scam was the biggest fraud to captivate the community since the NINJA (no income, no job or assets) subprime fraudulent quickclaim scams of the mid-2000’s (fraudulent quitclaim deeds were used to take out multiple cash out mortgages on the same property in a short time frame, with no intent to ever repay, which is partially responsible for all the zombie properties in Cook County). Where did all that money go? With tens of billions of dollars flowing in the residents of the neighborhood, where did all the money go? It wasn’t reinvested, thats for sure.

This cascading attrition was highly predictable, as Wirepoints has been pointing out for quite some time. Many (probably most) of the forewarnings on this site will also come to pass as reason and common sense gain traction. Politicians and other opportunists depend upon the emotions they are able to excite among voters, but reality eventually intrudes. The question remains: how much and how many will be impaired or destroyed as we await that intrusion?

Illinois Organized crime is tactically brilliant. Woodstock is experiencing catalytic converter theft at astronomical rates. (McHenry County has no emissions check requirements). Huntley Sun City senior housing is experiencing targeted home felony burglary at unprecedented rates. (Seniors leaving home to shop leave tire tracks in snow). Imagine that Illinois was targeted for “takeover” by outsider forces. (Endorsed/accepted by Illinois political class which benefits from voting blocs, no matter the blocs’ composition). It isn’t unreasonable to posit that self-dealing outsider influences are behind divisive tactics which have fractured American society. Suppose Russia wished to take over America, what better way to… Read more »

So I guess this alderman is presenting this as an argument in favor of armed self defense? More favorable carry laws in Chicago? He’s left the defund the police bandwagon, that won’t make Lori happy.

As the demand goes up across the country in areas that have decided they actually value law and order, the competition for qualified law enforcement individuals goes up exponentially. The police have had a rough few years, but that is changing quickly. As long as they are willing to relocate they will have a lot of options. The big blue cities will pay a terrible price for their SJW agenda, which is failing miserably. No where will it be worse than in Chicago, which already had a terrible violence problem. Soon it will have no one to stop the violence.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
