No, this isn’t about Obama’s alleged role in the “Russiagate” hoax, currently getting attention. There’s much else that many don’t know about the Obama Administration, making a new, 25-minute documentary well worth your time. It’s produced and narrated by Steve Cortes, who you may recognize from many national television appearances and his time in Chicago. Cortes grew up in Chicago’s south suburbs and spent over two decades working in the city’s financial sector as a trader and a strategist, before turning to politics and commentary.
“Yes We Can” and “Change We Can Believe In.” Those were Obama’s exceptionally successful campaign slogans.
But today, through clearer eyes, the black Chicagoans Cortes interviews look back with bitterness at the Obama Administration — as a chapter of broken promises, dashed hopes and the beginnings of the racial tribalism now so prevalent in America.
And it’s black Americans who fared worst under Obama, Cortes argues. To make that case, Cortes returns to his roots in financial numbers, citing the Federal Reserve Bank. “During [Obama’s] presidency, only the top 10% of wage earners — only the top 10% — saw their net worth increase from 2009 to 2016,” says Cortes. “The other 90% of earners actually lost net worth during Obama’s eight years in office, including a stunning 30% decline in the net worth of black households in America under Obama.”
Obama’s true legacy undoubtedly will get massive attention in coming months. That’s thanks to the scheduled opening of the Obama Center in the spring and to the new charge by the US Director of National Intelligence that Obama and his team orchestrated a “treasonous conspiracy” to subvert Donald Trump’s 2016 election victory in what was essentially a “years-long coup.”
Cortes’ documentary deserves a place in that reassessment.

Currently a diety to democrats, and someone who enjoys acting like one, it will be interesting to see how history treats him years from now. He is fairly high on various lists of historians who have ranked the presidents. Charles Krauthammer said Obama had a first rate mind, also called him a self absorbed narcissist. For sure he played the game of politics with sharp elbows and seemed to me more skilled at that than actually governing.

All you will find in them are a couple Trib stories from the A.P. buried in that back pages that are mostly anti-Trump. And they’ve still entirely ignored the massive scandals exposed by the Hunter Biden laptop, and how it was suppressed.

Excellent work by Cortes. But it doesn’t surprise anyone who watched Obama’s performance in both the Illinois Senate and the US Senate. Can anyone point to anything he accomplished in either job?
