Nine of the homeowners have now asked for hearings to challenge Kaegi’s actions. They’ve told his office they want a chance to prove their eligibility for the tax break, which freezes the property assessments on the primary residence of homeowners 65 or older whose household income is less than $65,000 a year.
The taking of money in contravention of civil law (Pritzkers, Kaplan-Israel’s, Robles, etc.) by accepting ill-gotten improper low assessments is not a victimless crime, the victims are all other property tax-payers, and most of those have far fewer financial resources than Pritzkers et al.
There is a method to catch these thieves and make them pay fair share soi that others do not suffer for their enrichment:

How/why and when have properties become ATM machines for taxing bodies? Seriously! How did taxpayers allow taxing bodies to do this? When did taxing bodies become part owners in your properties? I never have seen their names on the title.You never/ever own your home. Think of it. If at closing all the taxing bodies have attorneys there and all become part owners and none of which PAY taxes only COLLECT there would be outrage.
If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
