November 9, 2013 Gurnee IL It’s the county where he grew up so you’d expect him to do well, but even adjusting for that, Bruce Rauner’s showing was sure impressive in the Lake County Republican straw poll today among GOP candidates for governor: Rauner 67% Dillard 16% Rutherford 13% Brady 3%.   The day’s most, um, memorable line came from Bill Brady: “We need a governor who won’t unequivocate on taxes.” Update, Nov. 10: Rauner also won the GOP straw poll in Cuba County with 43% of votes. Dillard had 39%, Rutherford 14% and Brady 4%.
