Gov. JB Pritzker said Greg Bovino, Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller and Tom Homan should be held accountable for killing Americans and harming immigrant neighborhoods. The Illinois Accountability Commission is independent from the Illinois General Assembly. However, state lawmakers could pass plans this spring with recommendations from the commission.

Illinois’ unemployment rate was 4.6 percent in December, above the national rate of 4.4 percent. There were nearly 302,000 Illinoisans looking for work.

“The object here is to generate video clips for TV ads and social media promotion and to manage conventional news coverage, which can then be used in ads. Like it or not, that’s where most people will be exposed to the debates. Effectively conveying those messages requires money and creativity. U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi has so far raised and spent the most money.”

Gov. JB Pritzker said Chicago has been submitted as a possible site for the 2028 and 2032 conventions. “Under the FBI’s current leadership, under the Secret Service’s current leadership, will they act as they did in 2024 in coordination with local and state law enforcement to make sure that we have a safe city during a convention like this,” he said.

Illinois is one of 20 states whose tax codes automatically conform to the federal change. This means that unless Illinois legislators decouple the conforming provision before taxes are due next year, student loan forgiveness amounts will also be taxed by the state.

Illinois state legislators have only been in session for a few weeks and are already focusing on housing, but the bills so far are fated to fail because they focus on demand rather than boosting supply.

The bill would create the Northwest Indiana Stadium Authority to help finance a stadium after the Bears expanded their search for a new venue to include northwest Indiana. Gov. Mike Braun indicated support for the measure.
