“If they are teaching sexual orientation and gender ideology-related content, the investigations will examine whether the schools have notified parents of their right to opt their children out of such instruction. The investigation will also assess whether the Illinois School Districts limit access to single-sex intimate spaces (such as bathrooms and locker rooms) and girls’ sports teams based on biological sex,” the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division said in a release. Illinois Reps Ramirez and Garcia lead effort in Congress to raise US minimum wage to $25 an hour – WTVO (Rockford)

The bill, the “Living Wage for All Act,” was introduced by Reps. Delia Ramirez and Jesus “Chuy” Garcia, both Democrats from Illinois, along with Reps. Analilia Mejia (D‑N.J.) and Lateefah Simon (D-Cali.). If enacted, the bill would raise the federal minimum wage to $25 an hour, would more than triple the current federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour.
