A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
Eventually we will reach a point (if we’re not already there) where everything is paid for in favor of certain groups. The payors will be the hardworking groups who sacrifice the quality of those very things for themselves, because they have to pay for better things for others.
What would it be like to have someone else pay for my phone, computer, internet, cell service, housing, food, transportation, schooling, healthcare, and school meals?
My complaint about the Covid response has always been that it’s not surgical it blankets everyone with the same rules. Even if your community is clean. But I guess it’s ok to have a surgical approach if it’s on some racial lines. Of course public transport is a sacrament to the left, packing people into trains during a pandemic must happen. But small business gets screwed, while we watch big box stores remain unscathed as though nothing happened. It’s a find, but it’s not a surprise
All those speakers are still going strong. Joseph Schwartz is now vice-chair of DSA, which makes sense as old-white-men-lurking-in-academia is there brand. Wilson has been at Harvard for over 20 years now.
What’s funny about that listing is that the University of Chicago DSA distinguishes itself from Chicago DSA. Which goes to show you even socialism is a class system.
