Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Her first mistake was renting house to drug users. I want to feel bad, but anyone could see this was going to be the end result. She had a clue when the previous rental was trashed.
In the meantime property tax’s still have to paid. Absolutely no sacrifice by the taxing bodies to help landlords and property owners. Businesses shut down for months now and no tax breaks whatsoever. JB says a contract is a contract and they have to be honored. I owe over $9.5K in tax’s on my 2 rentals and my home for part 2 due in September and almost another $10K for next year. Schools may not open for a while but everyone still gets paid with raises to boot. Shared sacrifice. Yeah right!
Sell everything and move.
Sell everything and become a non paying renter.
Fill up the gas tank and just drive away and never come back.
Let the tax man own the properties.
Screw Illinois like Illinois has been screwing you.
Illinois “Land Of Slavery”
That is my plan but the problem is where to move to. My uncle moved to Centennial,Co and homes values are up every year and tax’s are very low (0.6%) but pretty much unaffordable now. Boulder,CO would have been good about 15 years but the average home value is now is over $800K. Phoenix is too hot. Florida will get many large hurricanes soon because they are due. Missouri has too many of my wife’s relatives so I’ll take a pass on that but any state without JB is OK by me.
Same problem here where to go, Wisconsin seems to be the logical place for me and my wife.
