Much of the routine trade and investment between China and America is entirely appropriate and in America’s interest. But inserting the Chinese Communist Party into America’s pay-to-play system and its economic development strategy isn’t just crossing a line. It’s a leap into an abyss of stupidity.
Chicago and Illinois are DOA, Goners, no chance in hell.
Nothing but a illegal Ponzi scheme.
Illinois is JUNK. Chicago is JUNK.
The Greed of the cops, teachers and firemen have destroyed the area for generations.
There is no longer any opportunity for the honest hard working taxpayer and their children

Why are articles posted that cant be read unless you are a subscriber?
Rick, that is a hard balance to strike for us. Sometimes the articles behind paywalls are the only good ones on a particular topic, and sometimes they are original or exclusive so it’s only fair to link to the original author. Most of the publishers with paywalls do all allow you a certain number of views per month. So, we try as best we can to link to those with no paywall but can’t all the time. In this case, a WSJ article makes it significant in itself, so we posted it.
For those of us that can read it, it’s a good article. I suffer from information overload so it’s good to have it brought to my attention, my move from IL notwithstanding. Everything that happens in Chicago has broad national implications which is why I still follow it.
Try various browsers with WSJ. Their paywall isnt a solid Yes or No. It’s a fairly sophisticated algorithm that lets non-subscribers through sometimes based upon the algorithm’s estimation of whether you may potentially become a future subscriber based on your browsing history.
Why is someone whose funds stand to profit if Chicago files for bankruptcy recommending Chicago file for bankruptcy?
