Eliminating fluoride from the water would help some. Fluoride leaches lead from pipes according to some studies. Check out http://www.fluoridealert.org or just search fluoride and lead. PubMed has studies. There are mixed theories about fluoride and lower IQ’s in children but IF fluoride does in fact leach lead out of pipes over time it is the lead exposure what can cause lower IQ’s. There is no reason to put fluoride into the water due to most toothpaste has fluoride now and when it was first put in water in 1945 to reduce dental caries there was no toothpaste with fluoride… Read more »

Now, I wonder how long it will take for Evanston to privatize its water works for the benefit of a bunch of multi-national corporations?
I am serious here. Let’s get a pool going on this one. I say it’s no more than one to two years.
