Pritzker proposes changes to state justice system – Center Square

Jim Kaitschuk, executive director of the Illinois Sheriff’s Association, said law enforcement groups were left out of the discussion. And McLean County Sheriff Jon Sandage said the governor isn’t thinking about the entire state: “I think they need to realize that downstate Illinois is not Cook County, and we don’t have the same problems that Cook County does."

Since Cook County/Chicago is the place that elect our governor, US senators, and usually the EC votes for president, Pritzger believes that all of Illinois should be treated like Cook County/Chicago when in reality 99% of the counties share nothing in common, have totally different opinions about crime, taxes and everything else. Bubblehead is pandering to that area and could care less about the rest of the state. Remember, out of 102 counties Bubblehead won 9.

There are two parts of Cook county–those that go with what the city believes and those who like to think on their own and not be a cog under the Dem Ilk.

Unfortunately those of,us that think on their own are treated just like every other part of the state. We can’t win. Only way out is to leave.Pritzker is not the governor formthe whole state. He could care less about all the citizens. We are so screwed here.

Illinois' situation, as correctly pointed out, is similar to the Country as a whole when considering large urban votes from the coastal cities demonstrating the merits of the Electoral voting system. Elections are about votes and Cook county has the votes and unfortunately there is no equilivant to the Electoral voting system in the State voting system. Hence Cook County has a lot to do with how the rest of Illinois is Governed.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
