You can give a misleading name to anything to push your agenda. The so-called “fair tax” isn’t fair because you are assigned a higher tax rate as you make more money, which makes it a disincentive to make more money. So, this “fair tax” smacks of socialism in that it discourages people to pull away from the herd by making more money.

The exodus out of Illinois is speeding up and for good reason.
Private sector has layoff and pay cuts.
Government sector got pay raises and no layoffs.
Fair is fair or is it?

Governor Slobbo needs to see if Illinois can be the first State to file for bankruptcy protection. Madigan’s firm can handle the paperwork. The irony would be delicious. Democrats are a force for evil and destruction. Remember that on 11/3.

How many public employees lost their jobs over the same time period?

Good question. As far as I know, none, Nada, in my village of Palos Heights for starters. None furloughed since March 2020. Quite the contrary, we are spending $400k on a park rehab (Palmer Park). Public sector workers even got their pay increases during this plandemic.

No bailing out of the State please President Trump. Nothing, not a dime, ever.

Legally states have to balance budgets. Time for chickens to come home to roost. My taxes are going up anyway.

My business was considered non-essential which meant I had to close down, so one could argue I am compromised.

It gets worse. School bus drivers delivering sandwiches and food (donuts) to teachers zooming in schools while kids are at home. Talk about whistling past the graveyard, all of them.

As Mr Biden said on Thursday evening, a dark winter is coming. Mine is already dark, so only fair others join me, from the public sector. I look forward to it……

I actually want Illinois to financially collapse. Clear the deck and start again.

Wolfnight don’t get me started about school buses delivering food. How would you like to see school buses and drivers on taxpayers time and MONEY parking and going into the local Walmart, jewel, farm and fleet and doing there personal shopping. Trust me I’m on a mission out here to put a stop to the fraudulent abuse of taxpayers money.

Oh ya same out here school bus drivers delivering lunches every Tuesday and Thursday. But what irritates me is that these school bus drivers are parked in the local Walmart, jewel, and farm and fleet parking lots and there inside doing there shopping. I’m on mission to stop this fraudulent abuse of taxpayers money.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
