John Kass: The Illinois plane, with no pilot, is going down – Chicago Tribune*

"'Getting rid of Madigan matters. There’s no argument there,' government budget analyst Ted Dabrowski of wirepoints.org told me on Tuesday...Even if Boss Madigan loses power, 'too many residents know that the current group of legislators won’t change anything, so they keep leaving,' Dabrowski said. 'No state is losing people like Illinois is. We’re shrinking, and you can’t build a state on that.'"

I always admired the notion of standing up to fight to protect one’s own life, family and home, but Chicago is beating the will to struggle out of me and many others. I’ve also come to conclude that the only option is to leave before being the last one out. I’d love to be convinced that somehow things will turn around here.

I wrote my state rep (Gong) about HB163,an anti-police bills drafted by the Illinois General Assembly. Her response was the left’s obligatory retort about our systemic racism. See below:
Thank you for writing to me about House Bill 163, the Pretrial Fairness Act. We must address systemic racism and reform our criminal justice system to ensure that we live up to our founding value of equal justice under law.”
I’m at a loss at what to do except leave the state

Good for you. You have already determined the best (and only) solution. I would only add to do it soon.

Well my Rep did vote “Yea”. Y Gong-Gershowitz  I’m sure next they will come after our firearms so we are defenseless. These politicians are fermenting chaos, I’m just not sure where to go. Maybe South Dakota

Chaos? This is a progressive utopia.

We keep electing them. We are getting the government we deserve.

Not ‘we’. They. They keep electing him. 55% of the population elects about 70% of the legislature seat because gerrymandering. 45% of the population (R’s) elect only 30% of the legislative seats. Because of gerrymandering.

I always vote for the opposition and resistance party.

Well, were are our Senators? Oh yeah, they are busy playing partisan parlor games, i.e., what problems?
Illinois citizens are voting with their feet, and that’s an election Democrats can’t rig.
