What Happens If CPS, CTU Don’t Reach a Deal? Lightfoot ‘Won’t Speculate’ – NBC5 (Chicago)

CTU circulated an open letter to parents Thursday, saying "We cannot return to in-person instruction until we have made more progress with the district" on several points - including "support for rental assistance and investment in resources to keep communities safe in a pandemic."  CTU claims Lightfoot and CPS leadership "mocked" the union for raising that issue in negotiations.

Lori will give in to the CTU. They and their extended “families” and roommates will get vaccinated before the elderly, disabled, immune compromised, cancer and heart patients. This is what they want and Lori will give it to them. White people and taxpayers will continue to scramble to get the vaccine as Lori needs the votes from the permanent victim class.

It bothers me to say this but school choice is the realistic solution . Calculate the per pupil expenditure annually by CPS and offer 80% of it in cash to Chicago parents to seek an education elsewhere for their child. Then you can close up shop at CPS or exponentially reduce their impact on the city.

It’s not painful. The one thing that CTU needs is competition. The forces of competition will flush out the bad and the poisoning within CTU.

Easy solution. Lightfoot needs to tell the teachers that they all have to return to work by a certain date, or they’re fired. Grow some balls!

Der Mayor needs to deliver on that threat. Der Mayor has made that threat several times already and has never made good on that promise. The CTU knows that she is a weakling with a spine of jello and will eventually cave in to all of their demands. Until there are some CPS imposed consequences for the CTU bad behavior they will trample all over the children of the CPS system.
