Illiterate Revolutionaries: Chicago schools struggle as teachers push liberal politics – Fox News short film

Wirepoints President Ted Dabrowski appears in an Eli Steele short documentary on Fox that covers Illinois’ recently adopted, controversial “culturally responsible” teaching standards.

Despite a firestorm of opposition, Illinois finalized the “Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading” standards through a vote by the Illinois Joint Committee on Legislative Rules on February 17, 2021.

You complain and then you send your kids to school and pay your taxes to the people you complain about? Why should Illinois leaders listen to you? You are giving them the money they need to stay in power. That’s all they care about. You want to hurt them? It’s simple, leave.

I figured I would get negative likes. Illinois residents don’t want anyone forcing them to look in the mirror.

Except nearly everyone that reads Wirepoints understands that, so you’re insulting the wrong people.

Brain washing our children with radical liberal ideology is NOT EDUCATING them.
It is nothing less than the Nazi tactics of Germany pre WW11.
Think like me or you will be eliminated!!!
Absolutely the WORST idea for future generations of America.
Or should that be spelled AmeriKa???

The deeper problem is that the disease of wokeness will not be limited to the public schools. It will spread to parochial and private schools as they draw on the same pool of teachers that are indoctrinated by woke universities. Get your kids out of Illinois schools.

Parochial schools and home schooling will explode in Illinois. Public schools are doomed!

Yet we will still be taxed to the hilt to pay for the public schools while parents will have to pay tuition as well.

The “teachers” would rather the students be revolutionaries than literate. This tells you what their real job is, and it ain’t teaching

Private schools are not required to have licensed teachers, but many prefer or strongly prefer that. In any event, since this rule applies to college classes that train teachers, they will all be infected by the time they get out.

Unless they get educated out of state, which the majority of kids south of I80 do.

So Mark, do you advocate homeschooling?

After all, you make the outlandish and unhinged generalisation that; “Illiterate Revolutionaries” are teaching kids.

So what’s your solution, homeschooling and/or private schooling?

Yes homeschooling is advocated as alternative to what Illinois political industry “offers” to parents and taxpayers at gunpoint.

Is it difficult to understand? Can we help you with specific issues?

There are multiple paths to inject these ideas into private Catholic schools. The days of sending a child to a private school and not worrying about them being taught these ideas is over. The days of moving out of state to avoid these ideas being taught is over. It is happening nationwide, all states, public, private, rural, suburban, urban, big schools and districts, small schools and districts. Exactly where is it happening? The teachers, administrators, and school support personnel obviously know, but there is not widespread reporting on the topic. Lots of times the parent does not have a clue… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
