Comment: Most Illinoisans are still unaware, but Illinois owes $74 billion for OPEBs -- basically, pensioner healthcare, which is in addition to pensions themselves. They are entirely unfunded and are constitutionally guarantied in Illinois just like pensions. They raise the true pension hole by roughly 50% over commonly reported numbers.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
