I was astonished to read this editorial. It’s as if the years between 2015 to 2019 never existed in the Crain’s Editorial Board’s brains. Crain’s: “Someone is going to have to be willing to take the political risk, for all our sakes. The time for tribalism—looking out for a narrow constituency at the expense of everyone else—is long past, Illinois. We rise or we fall together. And it feels like we’re falling, fast. A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
