Illinois state tax grab could cost municipalities $150M: A city like Joliet could lose up to $1.8M – Wirepoints on Slocum in the Morning on WJOL

Gov. J.B. Pritzker wants to swipe $150 million of the state income tax revenue that is traditionally shared with municipalities. Pritzker wants to money to help shore up his 2022 budget. If he’s successful, Joliet will lose out on as much as $1,800,000 of its general budget. Wirepoints President Ted Dabrowski joins Scott Slocum on WJOL.

So my village will probably do without so Porkie Pricktakur can reward his cronies with perks, pay raises, political donations, and plenty for pork projects. The Democrats have done it again.

Rather than sharing with municipalities how about a tax break instead? I for one am tired of things like grants to fund a park that then saddles the local taxpayers with taxes to operate them. The list in addition to parks is seemingly endless.
