Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Say all the kids get the vax…. Think CTU will really go back to teaching? No. The answer is no. This summer the loonies will push boosters for the “variants”. This will never end. Better get your kids registered in a private or charter school or have another year of this.
I don’t care what happens in CPS. In fact, I hope they don’t return in the fall. The more unsupervised teenagers running around in the streets all day and night, the faster Chicago will collapse, as tourism fails to return and businesses stay closed. There were over 100 teens fighting last night at Chicago’s most popular free tourist attraction, the Bean. Does Lori have the political will to ask the cops to disburse these teens back home to their parents? or is that not equitably?
It’s time to destroy the CTU by any means available.
While this is a laudable goal, the CTU has longevity and has been around much longer than you or I have been alive. The best we can do is starve the beast into irrelevancy hopefully over the course over a generation.

Teachers spend every waking moment at work dreaming of retirement, now they have it with full pay and benefits just to do a few crappy zoom classes a day. Lightfoot is a helpless child, and the goalpost will forever keep moving.

Kids who are mandated to get the injection and then get sick will be on solid legal ground to sue the school.
