Op-ed: Soldier Field revamp hit taxpayers hard. So will the Obama center. – Chicago Tribune*

Michael Rachlis and Richard A. Epstein, co-counsel in the lawsuit to protect Jackson Park: "But left unanswered is this question: What happens if the foundation decides to walk away from its new project 20 years down the road when attendance is down and costs of operation are up. Under those circumstances, an overtaxed public will have to bear the high costs of either running or dismantling the entire operation."

And the children of Chicago will lose another 100 acres of lakefront park. Forever.

Was great editorial, but a shout-out into the void. Obama Center is unstoppable force, Jarrett steering that project. She and Obama are forcing this project upon every Cook County and Chicago politician as “loyalty oath” to party. I agree with Paraclete though, local Machine politicians didn’t like Obama, were happy to see him sent to DC as senator rather than here as mayor.

IT SHOULD NOT BE BUILT.

Obama is and has always been about his ego. He should be forced to use his own wealth to build and maintain this edifice to he and his wife…

Attendance won’t fall, it will never materialize from the beginning. Nobody in Chicago liked O or any of his posse. It’s going to look like the South Side within months of opening. Walk away from it? They don’t want it now!
