Mayor Lightfoot, sounding an all-too-familiar theme, demanded that Chief Judge Tim Evans order the full resumption of criminal trials for the first time since the pandemic. “We still have too many murderers that are not being held accountable — not just in Chicago, but across this country. But, our county is being plagued. So I’m calling our our county partners — and particularly those in the criminal courts. Open up the courts. People need to get their day in court."

But, the ultimate goal of Defunding and Reimaging the Police is street justice. If there are no police, then people resort to street justice. This is the inevitable result of all police going fetal and being overworked and defunded;
Lori should request the governor issue a Territorial Imperative for an all hands on deck Blue Ribbon Deep Dive to identify Root Cause. That should just about cover everything! White Supremacy will likely place high on the list. Nothing will be accomplished and Lori will declare significant core problems have been identified. Closure, pending funding for Violence Interrupters and other persistent traditional nonsense! Perhaps native garb dancing at the laundromat.
