Just a year ago, Fair Tax supporters pointed to Iowa’s top income tax rate of 8.53% as if to say, “See how much higher our neighbor’s taxes are compared to our proposed rates?!” Now Iowa’s top rate is slated to decrease to 6.5% in about a year, lower than the top brackets of the Fair Tax. My, how narratives change.
