Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Sounds like Lori is scared of a “blue flu” epidemic happening that she started. So cops have to delay their sick days, ok, more ammunition for later, throw in some disability leaves later too. The cops have plenty of means to fight this mandate, Lori is scared and will come out the loser. She picked a fight she can’t win, her cop-hating ways won’t go far.
Lori should think outside the box on this one. Since it’s pandemic related, let the unvaccinated cops work from home. Naturally with pay.
