It is nice to see the public starting to notice that on almost every issue, Democrats are about controlling you, whereas conservatives are about freeing you.

What’s needed is a “mandate” to learn who’s “insulin resistant” [IR] and who’s not. The IR types, regardless of vaccination status, are far more likely to snap off from the dreaded “co-morbidities” than the non-IRs. That established, get Illinois’ medical schools to devise ways of “shrinking” the IR types [such as Pritzker] for better state-wide health. Do that and Illinois will do something no other state has done. That’s called real “public health”. What’s the chance of Illinois doing something unique and useful? Zero. Because it might cause governments to do sensible things, like revamp the school lunch, or free… Read more »

Sure I’ll get a lot of down votes..but I throw this out for discussion anyway. Is entire protest of mask mandate, from everyone from FOP to AFSME to nurses unions, in reality not about any infringement on personnel freedoms but in reality public sector unions, heath care unions, etc (highly funded thru tax monies) holding out for added further collective bargained benefits (HAZARD PAY)? I believe the fed ARPA funds can be used for so called hazard pay? And every public sector union would have to be crazy not to try and get thier hands on those $. Catanzara keeps… Read more »

Public employee unions are a unique animal. They raise funds and do campaign work for the politicians who right their work rules and set their pay. The coppers are a unique entity as many of them are conservative types and do not vote democratic. It’s likely Catanzara Likely doesn’t care about the mandate one way or the other. Most of the anti vex pundits and pols were among the first to get vaccinated, as Trump did. Just like the Democrats who “care” so much. They want everyone to get the jab because it’s what the drug companies want. They want… Read more »

I had Covid end of March this year. The only symptom I had was a complete loss of taste and smell. As of today, it’s about 85% back. I’ve had an antibody test taken yesterday and it came back positive, meaning I still have antibodies. Since Medicare pays for testing, I’m going to go back in a month and see how long the antibodies stay with me. I’ve read somewhere that the best way for a society to tame Covid is through herd immunity, which can only be sustained by natural antibodies. Is this true? If so, I guess I’m… Read more »

Or, is the state going down the path where gov union employees & healthcare union employees have collectively bargained covid conscious rights while the rest us are out of luck? And we can all pay for the added costs for those gov employees that will be graduated covid conscious job protections but will not be able to perform work, at a nursing home for example?

I’m sure this has been discussed behind closed doors but our leaders seem to be pretty firm with forcing the vax upon as many unwilling groups as possible. They’re not getting hazard pay and they’re not getting out of mandatory vax.

It would be nice to think that someone in this country actually cares about rights and freedom as opposed to constantly seeking ways to grift off of everyone else.

But your theory is not far fetched. I think all public employee unions are in it for as much as they can get, and if they can appear to be fighting for freedom, then I’m sure they’ll take the positive PR.

I would think that conversation stays with union leadership, and the members would not be privy to much of it.
