Chicago, U of I embark on $2 million program to detect COVID in sewage – Chicago Sun-Times*

Measuring the amount of virus in sewage can point to community trends that help health officials pinpoint their response and control efforts during the pandemic. The Health Department is funding the program through $2.14 million provided by the federal government.

That sounds like a very productive endeavor! Why not check the morgue too. Be careful of what you find, Chicago has their sewage dumped in the Gulf of Mexico via the Des Plaines/Ship Canal, Illinois River, Mississippi. Abra Kadabra the gulf!
