Brian C. Johnson, CEO of Equality Illinois, has an idea is to create a $570 citizen dividend for every American – or about $2,000 a year a family of four— which would be funded through the 5 percent of corporate profits.
If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
More ‘help’ from the nanny state to foster more and more dependence on government.
In other words, ‘People, we know you can’t make it without our help, so here’s a $1.56 to tide you over today.’
Have we no pride that we’ll sacrifice our self-esteem for a measly $1.56 a day?
How insulting!
Another idea from the geniuses who believe nobody before them ever thought of just giving money away to end poverty…
We’re any businesses consulted? I didn’t think so. We gonna take it from you!
Glad to see you are back. Started to worry you may have left Illinois, not that anyone could blame you.
Why? When did we become the county of “give them fish”… Oh, wait, about 5 minutes after a politician realized they could buy votes…
Pathetic.
“Citizen dividend”. So a legal citizen of the USA? This will go over splendidly in progressive circles.
Don’t worry, Equality Illinois got the Fair Tax all wrong too.
I’ve got an idea about his idea, but if I share it I might get banned.
