Illinois lawmakers debate measure that would use federal funds to pay down unemployment debt – Center Square

Many Republicans in the Senate are opposed to the implementation of SB2803. State Sen. Winn Stoller said that the $2 billion will not cover the state's debt. "We currently have a four-and-a half billion-dollar loan to the federal government," Stoller said. "So my question to you is, what is the rest of your plan to fix this problem?"
