Evanston religious leaders, Mayor Biss rally to raise funds for the city’s reparations efforts – WBBM (Chicago)

Mayor Daniel Biss acknowledged that cannabis taxes are not generating as much as expected. “We would much prefer to do it significantly faster than the resources are arriving. There [are] things that we’re going to think about internally, but there’s also room for the community to step up and be a part of supporting this effort.”

Figure out how to tax the street pot vendors and you might be on to something. That should provide sufficient revenue to support whatever nonsense Biss is promoting now.

Living in Evanston, I find the political scene here “highly” amusing…

I’d find it insufferable having to live among those people

The obvious solution would be to just tax Evanston’s white residents for the shortfall.
It’s what the white guilt crowd wants, so just do it. If any white residents disagree, they are not worthy of their Evanston address and should move. Mayor Biss needs to walk the walk.

Biss under-estimating cannabis tax revenue sounds about right. “Gee, if only we sold more pot…” lol
