The data speaks for itself, but we’ll add a few words. Illinois lags nearly the entire nation in job creation.
The state’s 4.5 percent June unemployment rate has Illinois tied for the 4th-worst job climate in the country. The states with the best unemployment performance have rates below 2.5 percent.
Illinois politicians can’t blame the state’s rust-belt status for the state’s job troubles. All of Illinois’ neighbors, including struggling Michigan, have a lower unemployment rate.
Indiana and Iowa’s rates are about 2 percentage points lower.
Illinois’ outlier status has everything to do with its politicians’ policy choices.
High taxes, restrictive regulations, a record amount of debts, oppressive public sector labor laws – wrapped in corruption and malgovernance – all serve to kill job opportunities for Illinoisans.

A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.

Although the recent employment numbers show what the LOL governor JB has done to Illinois, the recovery to pre pandemic levels has not been achieved here. Indiana recovered by Aug 2021. Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri and Wisconsin have recovered between Jan and Jun of this year and they’re now better than pre pandemic levels. Congrats to our neighboring states. We have to vote this moron out of office.
Well done to the progressive liberal politicians who have destroyed the business environment in this state. The mainstream media won’t ask Jabba to explain this terrible performance, choosing instead to act as his number 1 fan. The fact that Iowa and Indiana are top tier performers speaks volumes as to what is possible.
