A resolution was unanimously approved by the Orland Park Village Board this week, demanding that state legislators work with public safety representatives and community stakeholders to fix problems with the SAFE-T Act, including violating victims’ rights as outlined in Illinois law.

Waiting on all of the other Mayors to get a spine and follow Keith Pekau’s lead. The cowardice with our elected officials is astounding. Afraid of the minority woke mob. They need to get a spine and stand for something.
Mayors are elected on a non-partisan basis but most are Democrats even in conservative areas. That’s why schools boards, park districts, water districts, all run by Democrats, even though they live in conservative areas.
If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
