On Friday, U.S. Reps. Jesus “Chuy” Garcia, of Chicago, and Adriano Espaillat, of New York, and Eleanor Holmes Norton, the District of Columbia’s nonvoting House delegate — all Democrats representing the cities to which Texas Gov. Greg Abbot is sending the migrants — sent a letter to the U.S. House requesting $50 million more in humanitarian assistance for the migrants.
Migrants come in through the front door. These people slinked in through the back door, deliberately left open by the same Democrats who now squeal.

Once again the Democrats showing off their amazing math skills. $50,000,000/300 migrants = $166,666 per migrant. That’s way better than 40 acres and a mule.

Hey Tribune/MSN writer, what is a migrant from Texas? Are these US citizens migrating from Texas or South of the boarder? Can you explain?
GO Governors, in the south who have to deal with this surge on your borders!
I like all the comments here. I am sure that if Illinois gets any money, it will be wasted. Thats LOL!

My most recent stay at a Holiday Inn in Grand Rapids, Michigan was $175 per night. Nice that Chicago can put these criminals up on our dime.

Federal financial assistance? That’s garbage. If Chicago, DC and New York proclaim themselves Sanctuary Cities then they and they alone bear the financial burden. Virtue signaling with someone else’s money is disgusting and despicable. Why isn’t someone handing flyers to these criminal illegal immigrants directing them to hateful racist Chuy Garcia’s home for handouts?

So, how much money from the federal government will the city end-up getting for this, how will it be utilized, and for how long? I’m assuming Texas doesn’t qualify for the same.
I still think the mayor was surprised by this, but she should have seen it coming.
I’m glad that some of the migrants have a plan that includes a destination. Some landlords benefit by this.
Addressing immigration policy is long overdue.

Perhaps the $50 million should go to the southern border states where the crisis actually exists.
Just say’n.

Chicago is a self proclaimed *sanctuary* city, meaning the city leaders designated themselves as such…
This means alleged illegal immigrants are *protected* from legal harm within said *sanctuary*…
So, by moving the alleged illegal immigrants from said sanctuary, is a violation of said proclamation yes…?
Thus proving the virtue signal the proclamation really is…

Chuy should just take them in. Otherwise he’s just another Dem hypocrite.
If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
