Two Illinois cities make list of best places to live in the U.S. – FOX32 (Chicago)

The neighborhood of Rogers Park ranks fifth on the list; Money reports the reason for its listing is because of its "metropolitan feel and strong sense of community." The number 16 spot is where Naperville ranks.

Is Rogers Park a city in Illinois? I thought is was a part of the disaster that is LLs chicago. The headline talked about best cities and chicago is certainly in a place that people are leaving due to crime, high cost, high murder rates, and clueless, idiotic, corrupt leadership.

What kind of silly yuppies or Gen-Zers or flunk-outs from statistics class put together this list.? Roger Park one of the best places in all the US to live? Can’t stop laughing. Urine soaked CTA platforms, congestion and Chicago Public Schools. Litter everywhere. Homeless squatters in a dozen places every day. And I like Naperville a lot. And I’m sure the residents–especially kids– really use the Arboretum a lot. And the “beach” in Naperville? what’s that? I guess these pollsters have never seen Big Sur, Daytona or North Carolina. And, yes, the Naperville schools are good– if you want to… Read more »

The homeless tent shelters at Rogers Park are quite multicolored. Is that what they mean by diversity?

My personal gauge of the tent shelter situation in Rogers Park is an annual observation of the number of tents in Touhy Park as found in the grassy picnic area along the 7300 block of North Clark Street. I’ll call it the TPTI (Touhy Park Tent Index), with observations made in the first two weeks of August: 2019 3 or 4 tents 2020 [no observation; did not visit] 2021 7 or 8 tents 2022 23 or 24 tents, some McMansion-size So this year, the grassy picnic area on the west end of the park is completely filled with tents. The… Read more »

These are fake rankings that value equity over all else. These ideologues believe that diversity in and of itself is the most important thing, even if it results in a blade runner, high crime, dystopian living environment where neighbors can’t communicate because they have nothing in common and don’t speak the same languages. These rankings are as useless as those ‘revised’ stupid school rankings they use now on real estate sites to promote ‘equity’ over all else. The schools in my area are some of the best and highest performing in the state and have a 10/10 in test scores.… Read more »

Hmm, this must be a very old survey. They probably collected this data a few years before Rigers Park was gifted with Section 8 residents.

Don’t they realize Roger’s Park is in Chicago?

Another illustration of why this type of ranking is questionable.
