Area municipalities on electric-rate increases: ‘It’s going to be bad’ – Champaign News-Gazette

The Illinois Commerce Commission’s electric-choice website shows many communities are in the same situation: Their municipal electric aggregation contracts with alternate power suppliers are about to run out at the end of the year, bringing an end to the lower prices that were locked in before energy costs began to soar.

Once Biden shuts down coal plants the supply of electricity will plummet. Decreased supply and steady/increased demand will cause a huge drop in price, as any White House economic adviser will tell you
