Gov. JB Pritzker contributed about 70 bucks per vote to his campaigns to win his two elections for governor. He put in $171 million in 2018 and $152 million this year, for a total of $323 million, winning 4,586,330 total votes in the two elections. (That does not include the $24 million that he contributed to the Democratic Governors Association to help assure that his chosen opponent, Darren Bailey, got the Republican nomination.)
To win the presidency, you need at least 80 million votes, roughly.
Pritzker therefore would have to spend about $5.6 billion to to win the presidency if national votes were to cost him as much as they have in Illinois. For comparison, Pres. Joe Biden’s campaign spent “only” about $13 per vote, which was just over $1 billion, the first time a presidential campaign spent that much.

Here’s the problem: Since JB is self-funded, that means the millions that labor and law firms would throw into the gubernatorial race can be spent elsewhere.
He is a fat rich straight white male, lacking any lovable grandfatherly quality like Biden. The Dems will reject him nationwide. I still expect a relatively unknown Dem to be the nominee, probably running against DeSantis.
Voters on both sides are tired of Clintons, Bidens, and Trumps.
FYI: Keep an eye on Nikki Haley if she decides to run (though she probably won’t). Dems would have a problem running against a quality female, especially if she was credited with defeating Trump in the primary.
Haley can’t win, few in the GOP primaries want her.
Now Noem, she’s got a shot. She resisted COVID lock downs entirely, which is a rarity. She had some courage to do that. I’d give her a second look. Haley, nah.
I guess we see how much those who are quite certain they would lose otherwise must pay to buy the vote. Crazy

It’s nice when Grandpa leaves you a few billion bucks. Makes you wonder what the ‘end goal’ is.
Pritzker’s political spending for Gov in a state that is Leftist Democrat with a Supermajority is reckless. Contrast the outrageous political spending by Pritzker with his illegal cheating on property tax, which the Fed refuses to prosecute.
He bought ballots through his ground game. The precinct workers/ballot harvesters submitted ballots on behalf of the residents netting him an extra couple hundred thousand votes in what should have been an otherwise competitive race.
It would be interesting to know what % of pritzker donations are from jb personally and what % of donations are from pritzker family trust (offshore tax $)?
