This week, DuPage County Clerk Jean Kaczmarek appealed the ruling of DuPage County Judge James Orel to the Illinois Third District Appellate Court, amid her continuing dispute with State Rep. Deanne Mazzochi, who has accused the clerk of violating state election law in how her office is counting mail-in votes. Kaczmarek’s appeal came immediately after the Illinois Supreme Court rejected her request for a special supervisory order that would have tossed out Judge Orel’s ruling.

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.

Elections are a big $hit $how, if this continues every time the wife and I will just sit at home. In the election previous to the midterms we voted twice. A mail in ballot arrived at the house which we didn’t even ask for, so we sent it in. This woman, the Clerk, is a disgrace and needs to be removed from office.
Looking at the two pictures, it’s quite obvious which woman is the Democrat and which one is the Republican.
